My drawings & doodles from school

While I was looking for poetry I came across an "ODDS & ENDS FILE" in which there were some of my drawings from school. So I've scanned them and I'm putting them up here for the whole world to see. They aren't really that good, but you can see how I progressed from one to the other. The outlines are incredibly harsh in the first few & then by the end of the series I made a bit of progress with shading. I do not consider myself an artist, the pictures of women were all done in a 2 month period in 1994 as a hobby. I haven't drawn anything since then.

I copied (not traced) all the women images from actual photos. The rest were just doodles.

I hope you like :)

BJORK (image was from an interview in Top40 magazine)

GUY AND GIRL - (hehe, the guy looks like a younger version of Stormin Norman, our Financial Director :) The image was an advert for skin cream or something)

PLAYBOY GIRL 1 (some chick from Baywatch)

PLAYBOY GIRL 2 (the same chick from Baywatch, different pose)

PLAYBOY GIRL 3 (the same chick from Baywatch, different pose)

PLAYBOY GIRL 4 (a Playboy playmate)

PLAYBOY GIRL 5 (another Playboy playmate)

PLAYBOY GIRL 6 (Cindy Crawford)

PLAYBOY GIRL 7 (Cindy Crawford, different pose)

PLAYBOY GIRL 8 (Cindy Crawford - close up of the face of PLAYBOY GIRL 6)

PLAYBOY GIRL 9 (Cindy Crawford, different pose)

PLAYBOY GIRL 10 (Cindy Crawford, different pose)

PLAYBOY GIRL 11 (another Playboy playmate)

PLAYBOY GIRL 12 (Elle Macpherson. My second favourite drawing)

PLAYBOY GIRL 13 (Elle Macpherson, different pose. You can see that this was the last one I did as I think I got the shading thing going, also the outlines aren't as harsh as the others. By far my favourite drawing of them all)

ILLUMINATI DOODLE (I started doodling and this happened)

TRIPPY FACE DOODLE (I had finished my exam so I did this while I was waiting for the exam session to end)

CIRCLE THING DOODLE (Did this while studying for my Matric finals)

Well, there you have it. The sum total of all my drawings.

Seeing that I've added some poetry & some drawings, I think I should try find some photos from school. That should be hillarious.

Will see what I can find.

My Poetry #3 - Well, what is love? (unfinished)

This one is just me rambling on about what love is. It was not written for anyone and it wasn't ever finished. It is reproduced here exactly as it was written, mistakes and all. You can see that I was trying too hard to rhyme that it sounds a bit strange. Nice sentiments though :)

Well, What is Love? (unfinished) - Patrick Homan

Love has no face or name to name it by
Yet you and I know it well
You in my arms I lightly embrace
as love is hunted, together we chase
Love is the strength that my arm knows
the arc of flesh that is your breast
Love is felt deep in the chest
Love is so full, yet so empty
Full of good & empty of lies
Love is the crystal clear gleam in your eyes
It is the bloods wild tree that grows
the intricate and folded rose
Love is power, yet as delicate as a flower
It is so deelicate, but yet so strong
Love's strength can bring us together
No matter how far apart, or whatever the weather
Whether it be short or whether it's forever
Love can stop war, sorrow & pain
with nothing to lose & all to gain
Love has no boundaries and yet it's so tender
Love has the power to make a fool remember
There is a tide in the affairs of love
Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune
On such a full sea we are now afloat
and we will go wherever the current takes us
Love is bigger than any ocean from shore to shore
And love will last forever more.

My Poetry #2 - My Ode to Tracey

Here's another one I wrote back in Standard 6, it was for a friend who was going through some really tough times. It is reproduced here exactly as it was written.

My Ode to Tracey - Patrick Homan

You've got that hurt in your eyes
but it's going to be alright.
I can't see your heart
I can't see your blood
but I know you're bleeding
deep down inside

You can let those tear drops fall
there is no shame in sorrow
cause although this world is crazy
and so unfair
It still holds our lives
in the palm of its hands

You are one with love
you've taught me all the peace.
This life is our only one
It is our only time
in this body
with this soul

And if we ever do reincarnate
I hope that it is your heart that you keep.

My Poetry #1 - In My Eyes Forever

I decided to go through some boxes at home & pull out some of the poetry I wrote while I was in high school in the early 90's. Hehe, you can tell I was a totally hopeless romantic. I stole the last two lines in the fourth quatrain from a Bob Dylan song (Ramona) and modified them a bit. Thanks Bob!

I can't really remember, but I think the last line in the first quatrain was plagiarised from somewhere, it just sounds so clichéd. Anyway, here is the first one I'm putting up. I had just had a fallout/breakup with a girlfriend and was feeling sorry for myself.

Please excuse the cheesiness, I was only in Standard 6 or 7 at the time.

IN MY EYES FOREVER - Patrick Homan

It feels as though my heart is dead
After hearing those painful words you said.
The hour is late, my mind's made up
We have taken a sip from a broken cup.

You say your love for me was blind
And that I was never even on your mind.
Is it such an impossible task?
Open your eyes or remove your mask.

Will we rejoin? Only time can tell
'Til then I live in misery and hell.
The life I lead, it is no scam
Can't you accept me for who I am?

I want to be your every breath
Rather than die a heartbroken death.
I cannot believe the strength of your skin
Your magnetic movements capture the minutes I'm in.

Your mesmerising eyes and fantastic smile
For that I'd go the extra mile.
Deep in my soul I feel your heart beat
My love for you no-one can defeat.

My thoughts of you are still fresh in my mind
If we try again then together we'll bind.
I want for both of our bodies to meet
But here I sit, alone in my seat.

Your name is all that rolls from my tongue
I we could embrace, our tune will be sung.
Regaining your love would be a victory for me
For in my eyes forever, you will be.

Random images & Flyers of INISHI8 gigs gone by.

I was doing some backups and thought I'd post some flyers from our past events, so in no particular order, here they are:

There were supposed to be 6 parties in the SMOKIN series. But unfortunately we were threatened with legal action by British American Tobacco for copyright infringement :'-( So unfortunately only 2 events saw the light of day. Thanks must go out to TinTin for the 3D work he did. Check his website here.

Confusion reigns supreme

Right, so I was told on Tuesday that I needed to accept a 15% reduction on my salary or face possible retrenchment.

Today, however, I was told that I should ignore what was said & that nothing is going to happen.

I'm glad, but seriously confused.
